This historic Saloon offers a versatile space for private events in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District. Most often used to host private group cocktail classes for any occasion, and corporate team building events. The space is also available for private parties or meetings, and has a fully functional, stocked, and staffed bar.

There has been nothing but a saloon on the corner of 16th and Guerrero since 1858, the earliest record of the corner’s existence. That makes ELIXIR San Francisco’s 2nd oldest saloon and an historic gem for the city and the neighborhood. You can feel it when you walk in the door. Original redwood wainscotting lines the walls of this 1907 rebuild. The original saloon burned down in 1906, along with the rest of the city, and this saloon is one of the only ones to be rebuilt in the same location, by the same owner, in 1907. (Check out the architect’s drawings on the wall.) The late 19th century, hand-carved mahogany bar is the focal point of the room and ties together all of the Victorian detail. Period lighting throughout the 1000 square foot room is completely dimmable, and the plush red velvet curtains create warmth and can provide complete privacy from the world outside. A state-of-the-art sound system, complete with a microphone and inputs for your own devices, fills the room, and 3 HDTVs are at your disposal for visual displays. With 48 leather bar stools and a collection of whiskey barrels and other extra furniture, the room can be set as you like for buffets, meetings, classes or, of course, parties. There are few authentic Victorian rooms of this quality in San Francisco. Party like it’s 1899.
