Our Brookland location is in the heart of the arts district of our first Northeast, DC location. We opened our doors on New Year’s Eve 2016 and filled the room with music, dance and incredible mojo with a welcome from author Alice Walker and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser. Our outdoor patio has a view of The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception on Catholic University of America’s campus and a giant water fountain. Inside is our Busboys and Poets Books bookstore and events space The Bailey Room named after former Brookland resident and actress Pearl Bailey.
